The nature of the staff exchange opportunities differ and are detailed in the exchange agreements. The application processes and deadlines will differ depending on whether you are an outgoing member of staff (from UCT heading to foreign University) or an incoming member of staff (from foreign University coming to UCT).
If you are an outgoing staff member, you will need to be nominated by your University as its exchange nominee under a particular agreement. Outgoing staff exchange opportunities are advertised internally by the respective partner Universities as and when they become available.
All arrangements and costs associated with the exchange (such as visas, travel expenses, insurance, accommodation and subsistence) must generally be undertaken and borne by the outgoing staff exchange nominee â€“ although certain of the exchange agreements do make provision for short-term accommodation and a small stipend should the staff member teach a short course at the exchange partner institution.
