About Law

The Oliver Thambo Moot Court, described as the "heart of the Law Faculty" at the University of Cape Town, was officially opened by Mr Dali Tambo on August 29, 2001.

Mr Tambo is the son of the late Oliver Tambo, former President of the African National Council, who died in April 1993, a year before South Africa's first democratic election which he had fought so hard to achieve.

Among the guests of honour were Mrs Adelaide Tambo, widow of the late Mr Oliver Tambo, members of the Cape High Court Bench, and leading law practitioners in Cape Town.
